Privacy policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information KarrotsKode collects through this website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Who we are
KarrotsKode is operated by Nicolas David Klein Godoy, trading as KarrotsKode (ABN 39 468 600 812), based in Perth, Western Australia. You can contact us at hello@karrotskode.com.au.
What we collect
- The request form. Your name, email address, business name, industry, what you are interested in, your consent, and the date and time you gave it. The form also stores optional fields: the design template you were looking at, the designs you marked with “I like this” (up to 10), and the source of the request.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly analytics on this site, run on our own server. We record anonymous events: which pages are viewed and for how long, how far down a page you scroll (25, 50, 75 and 100 per cent), which buttons you click, which designs you open or view live and which pages you visit inside a live design, which designs you mark with “I like this”, whether you are on a phone or a computer (from the width of your screen), and that a request form was sent. We also record where a visit came from: only the domain of the website that sent you, never the full address, and the utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign tags if the link had them. Each time a page loads it gets a random code that lives only in your browser’s memory while the page is open. It lets us tie together the events of one visit, it is lost when you close or reload the page, and it cannot be used to recognise you on a later visit. We use no cookies and no browser storage, we do not keep your IP address or user agent, and we do not record anything that identifies you. The designs you like are held in your browser’s memory and in the page address while you browse; they are saved only if you send the request form, and then only with that request. Your browser's Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are respected: when either is on, nothing is sent. These events are kept on the same server that KarrotsKode runs itself.
“Try it with your business”
In a live design you can type your business name, upload a logo (PNG, JPG or WebP, up to 1 MB), pick a colour or have us make a simple logo for you. Trying it only changes what you see in your own browser. If you choose “Get a link to share” or “Claim this site”, we save the name, colour and logo you chose on our own server (the logo is resized and stored as a small WebP image) so that the link shows your version. The link is secret and unguessable, the page behind it is not indexed by search engines, and we delete the saved version after 90 days. If you would like it deleted sooner, write to us and we will remove it. If you claim your site, the link to your version travels with your email so that we can see what you saw. We ask only for your email and your permission; we do not ask for your name.
Cookies
This website does not use cookies or any other browser storage, ours or anyone else’s, so there is no cookie banner to accept. The only statistics we keep are the anonymous ones we run ourselves, described under Analytics. If we ever start using cookies or browser storage, we will update this policy first.
Why we collect it
- To reply to your request and talk with you about your website.
- To understand which pages are useful and to keep the site working.
Sending information overseas
When you use Custom AI, the description you type (your “brief”) and the details you add to it are sent to Anthropic, PBC, our AI provider, whose servers are in the United States, so that it can generate your website. We tell you this before you send your first brief. We send only what is needed to generate your site, and we do not send your account details, your payment details or your contact-form enquiries. Except while the code-view flows still open (the Tailwind CDN and the CodeSandbox preview, which receive the IP address and browser of the person who opens the code view), nothing else about you or your enquiries is sent to other businesses; backups stay on servers we control or are encrypted before they leave.
Where it is kept and who sees it
Your information is kept on a server that KarrotsKode runs itself. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with other businesses. Only the people who run KarrotsKode need access, and only to reply to you or to run the site.
How long we keep it
We keep request form details for 24 months after your last message and analytics records for 12 months, then we delete them.
How we protect it
The form accepts a limited amount of data and limits how often it can be sent. We do not write form details to server logs.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@karrotskode.com.au. We will reply within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. If we cannot do what you ask, we will tell you why.
Emails from us (Spam Act 2003)
When you tick the box on the request form, you agree that we can reply to you about your request. That consent covers replies to your request. We will not send you marketing emails unless you agree to that separately.
To stop getting emails from us, write to hello@karrotskode.com.au with the word “unsubscribe”. We take you off our list within five business days of your request.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handled your information, please contact us first. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
